A simple yet endearing homage to the love of jazz music. The horn player on the steps of his home has caught the attention of two shoe shine boys “who just had to stop and listen”. Escalera was one to not only celebrate life but moments in time especially were inspirational to him. Capturing a scene and immortalizing it on his canvas. Whether the scene was from one he actually experienced or one within his imagination, the end result was always the same. Masterful.
