This piece of artwork is a challenge in perspective and a challenge to diversify, issued from Escalera's wife Susana. Escalera preferred painting people as he viewed the human anatomy as his greatest challenge with all of its intricacies and character.

Escalera simply could not just paint a forest, as the challenge was not great enough. However, painting a forest from the ground looking up and maintaining proportion and perspective? Well that was an entirely different task. All is captured beautifully and the viewer is left wondering…”how did he paint the fog? How did he make it transparent and translucent yet dense at the same time?”
